Blast from the 80s is all about the decade of Rubik’s cubes, leg warmers and mullets.

We play out some of the greatest tunes from the decade and well as your first song bought in the 80s the 80s memory and other regular features.

Blast from the 90s is all about the decade that brought us the teletubbies, the first hand held gaming devices and the birth of Justin Beiber.

Featuring the same as the 80s show but with a 90s kick.

As for me I’ve been in radio since 2011, presenting live and recorded shows for various stations.

Away from radio I work full time in customer services and live with my family on the Isle of Wight.

I started my radio show "Skankin' Down under" in Melbourne, Australia back in 1994.

At the time there was so much amazing music coming out of the United States I just felt like someone should be playing this great music on the radio here in Melbourne.

Then I discovered there was an amazing live scene right here! Once I got involved in the local scene I realised the local bands need airplay too! So I decided to play contemporary ska bands, bands that were playing somewhere around the world today, including everyone from The Skatalites, The Specials through to the latest bands. Skankin' Down under ran for 10 years straight on Plenty Valley, after which I did a 2 year stint on the awesome PBS fm, then at UG Fm all the while still presenting a jazz show and a monthly German Underground show on 3zzz. I have been involved in everything from organising and promoting Ska shows, as well as a tour for the great German Ska band, Bluekilla in 2001. At the end of the day it's all about the music to me and people need to hear more ska, especially from their local scene!

Jeff started taking a real interest in music from an early age. He became interested in DJing when his brother teamed up with a friend and used to do the clubs and pubs in the mid-70s.

He developed a love of independent music in the 80s initially. By then he was fed up with listening to the same top 10 songs played ad nauseum and started looking at alternatives. He believes there is a significant number of like-minded listeners who also want something different. Hence the A&R Show.

Album tracks and rarities, the kind of thing you won't normally hear on mainstream radio. Having been an avid listener to an online station for a few years, he approached the owner about doing a one-off special.

It was well-received, and as a result he was offered a weekly slot. The rest as they say is history. He now presents for a number stations in the UK, America and Europe. He really enjoys preparing and recording his show, as it really gets him thinking about what to play, and when. Off-air he enjoys the theatre, both on- and back-stage, and seeing local bands play.

Jim Like many radio presenters of a 'certain age', I caught the radio ‘bug’ when I listened to the British ‘pirate’ stations in the 1960s on my transistor radio. The jingles were my favourite part and ‘Big L’ had the best ones (and I’m now proud to say that I have some
personalized versions of them on my show).
In the seventies, I started broadcasting on a hospital radio station in Surrey and one of
my shows won a national competition for best hospital radio programme. Noel Edmonds was one of the judges! In 1976, I became a Butlin's redcoat entertainer presenting music and chat from their Radio Butlin studios at Clacton in Essex. Great fun, but very hard work.
In the 1990's, I did the weekday morning show on Eclipse FM which broadcast on cable and FM. One of our directors was the legendary Dave Cash. A couple of years ago, I did a spell on the weekday afternoon show of a commercial station at the seaside in East Sussex. My most embarrassing moments in radio were interviewing Bo Didley who insisted I call him ‘Mr. Didley’, and when I interviewed the comedian Richard Digance and I got a nose- bleed halfway through! I now really enjoy presenting my Happy Hour show – and I hope you’ll enjoy listening to it!

Jon Rix aka Vanrixter has been around the club scene since 1989, Rix is known for playing Progressive House, Downtempo and Trance, Rix's Mix cloud has nearly 4,000 listeners and his shows are regularly in the Global top 20.

He produced early house music in the early 90’s but never continued producing, deciding his heart was more in DJing.

What’s Up My name is Sam Smith I LOVE MUSIC period. Early in my life I used to sing with The Temptations and I was supposed to be in Gerald Levert’s group, LSG but Keith Sweat is a hater and had me kicked out. Ok, alright, no

I can’t sing, rap, and sometimes I have problems telling the truth. Born in South Carolina as a military brat (angel) we did the travel thing and ended up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I know, and before you ask, I still don’t know, but this is where the journey continues.

I started my radio fantasy on an FM, community radio station and dabbled in the commercial radio world and now I have found my place. Being heard around the world on the wave of the future.

See I just made that up. Ok, Ok, I stole it from *$^(*@# Bio. I enjoy having fun and being silly if you can’t already tell. I am also very excited to be a part of your family here at WFRM Radio. Thank you for the opportunity.

Steve Chelmsford is the host and producer of "The Mop Tops & The King" and has been a fan of The Beatles and Elvis Presley since he was three years old. Steve got his start in radio when he met Dusty Fenders, a local radio personality on "Radio Goldfield", a small community radio station in the middle of the Nevada desert.

Steve developed a friendship with Dusty and his radio partner Carl Brownfield and soon became a member of "The Carl & Dusty Radio Boogie" writing jingles and other musical pieces for the show.

About a year later, Radio Goldfield (KGFN 89.1FM) asked Steve if he would be interested in hosting his own show.

The Mop Tops & The King made its debut on December 4, 2011 and is currently heard around the world on over 85 radio stations.

In a previous life, Steve was a research engineer with the Air Force Research Laboratory for nearly 30 years. He is a life-long resident of Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

I live just north of London, UK and am a lifelong musician having picked up the guitar at 12 years old. I love all genre of music and have played in many different types of bands from blues to dance to jazz to folk. Still playing in bands and love every minute of it. I have a special love of the Blues and sharing that love with you on the radio is a real privilege. My love of all music comes across in my show at the ‘Joker in the Pack’ feature where I play a tune that is not necessarily Blues but one I really love.

The Blues Café is my venture into Radio …
